Java Support
Java is a "platform-independent"
programming language that was adopted by ASPIRE
in the past. While it has served us well, we are
currently making a switch to Macromedia's Flash
Player for our content. This is mostly because
it is so much easier on you.
To ensure that you can run our
Java applets, please be sure to download the latest
version of your favorite browser (Internet
Explorer [mac
version] or Netscape
Navigator). Generation 4 and newer
versions of these browsers come Java enabled,
so installation isn't necessary. If you can't
upgrade for some reason, go to Sun's
[MRJ
Plugin for mac] site and download their plugin.
If you are using a Macintosh
and having problems with the Java activities,
please download either Netscape
6.2 or Internet
Explorer 5.1 for Macintosh as well as the
MRJ
Plugin. These newer versions (especially Netscape)
fix common problems with previous releases concerning
scripting and Java.
Due to the complexities
of Java, we suggest you contact us with your problems
so that we can address them personally.
