myText=Hopefully this activity has helped you to see how the incoming energy from the sun can affect heating of the Earth's surface. HOW HOT the Earth gets at any given location is due to two factors: 1) The amount of energy received (direct/indirect radiation from the sun)
2) Length of time a given location is exposed to the energy. Since the tilt of the earth ensures that this radiation from the sun arrives at different angles and for different lengths of time throughout the year, average global surface temperatures (and seasons) change!
