Internships

The 2000-2001 school year marked the first year we have hosted work-based internships at the ASPIRE offices and with the HiRes Cosmic Ray Research Group. Two successful internships were completed through the year at ASPIRE.

Andrew Alldredge, a senior at West High School in Salt Lake City, completed a year-long study in computer animation and video production. This project allowed Andy to explore digital art and video as an interest, and potential career, before spending money and time during his college studies. The resulting final project for the year was a video documentary about breakdancing, a hobby that Andy and his friends share.

Rodrigo Lozada started an internship fixing computers and learning some interactive web programming. After completing his internship, Rodrigo began working for the HiRes Cosmic Ray Group as a computer technician.

These internships are the result of a partnership with the Applied Technology Education Program in the Salt Lake City School District. Internship inquiries can be directed to Julie Callahan at ASPIRE.
